						<description><![CDATA[On Wednesday, April 16, 2014 we took a day trip to the Nails Creek Unit of Lake Somerville State Park. &nbsp;Our purpose was to check out the campground for a future trip, find a geocache and do some wildfower photography.The campground is nice, we found a geocache and we enjoyed getting photos of wildflowers. &nbsp;The best display of wildflowers was in a meadow near the Newman Bottom area of the park. &nbsp;Th...]]></description>

						<description><![CDATA[This was the day we were to spend at Yosemite NP. &nbsp;Due to the Rim Fire we ended up spending the day in Kingsburg, California.

Kingsburg was established as a railroad town in the 1870's. &nbsp;It was mostly settled by Swedish natives, giving it the nickname of "Little Sweden". &nbsp;In 1921, 94% of the residents within a 3 mile radius of the town were of Swedish descent.

Many of the buildings in the town show Swedish styling. &nbsp;The water tower is designed as an antique Swedish coffee pot.<br>

We had lunch at a Chinese restaurant, Sun Hong Kong.<br>

During our walk through the downtown area we visited the two cell 1925 jail that had been turned into a museum. &nbsp;Notice the murals on the front and back of the jail.<br>

			<title>Salado Creek Camping</title>
						<description><![CDATA[As owners of a new Nikon D7100 camera and a new REI Camp Dome 4 tent, we decided to take a two day camping trip, despite the temperature approaching 100˚.

We camped near San Antonio along the Salado Creek. &nbsp;The creek is just beyond the tree line behind our tent.&nbsp; Above our tent in one of the many pecan trees was a Muscovy duck. &nbsp;It stayed in this position for quite a while.

We took the wrong #24.<br>
<br>
We got to a stop labeled "end of line". &nbsp;We asked the driver and he said that we had taken the short line #24, not the long. &nbsp;He then proceded to drop us off at another stop that was along the route of the long route #24. &nbsp;After a 29 minute wait in an unfamiliar part of town, we boarded the second #24 to come along. &nbsp;Yes, there are apparently at least three #24 routes.<br>
<br>

It was a beautiful moon lit night! We brought the fan into the tent when we retired for the night. That worked for us as we both got some sleep.&nbsp;<br>
